Original Dress Design #2 by Delores M. Doyle

Design for Shabby Apple

ATTENTION BLOGGERS! Visit Shabby Apple today at: http://www.shabbyapple.com/ !

I love the upper design of this dress. It is a combination of see-through material on the arms and upper chest/back along with matching fabric flowing ontop of the sides of shirred material on both hips, the length of the dress. that allow for all the womanly curves anyone has. The bottom of the front of the dress should also have the lighter, see through material attached at the hem, in a medium flowing ruffle, and, the front should be shorter than the back.

The top is more fitted and the front is cut to match the back. It has a strap that fits over the head and is attached to the material that is sheer, which should have an edging for the collar strap to be sewn to. It is pull over and gathered at the waist with contrasting belts to the material.

The materials should have a percentage of spandex, to hug curves and make for an easy to wear evening dress, but, for those that like fuss, could also be made with less flexible material with a zipper up the back. I prefer flash-dressing....:)

The colors should be saturated to make a statement, with contrasting saturated belt colors. Examples would be: black dress with yellow belt/shoes or boots, kelly green dress with magenta belt/shoes/boots, etc.

A fun dress to Salsa in!

From Delores M. Doyle to Shabby Apple!

Shabby Apple Dresses

This is a four piece set. It can be made from any material and for that reason it is a great bet to take. You could create fashions that have different patterns of a material on opposite sides, thereby utilizing bolts of fabric not able to be used otherwise, and, providing the purchaser with diverse looks to enhance their wardrobe. This would also make it possible to utilize end of season bolts of a certain color, example: spring /fall apple green and draw it into entry of summer or even winter, where we see those colors naturally fading in our environment, they would appear only in small areas of the design, perhaps chiffon sleeves on a fine knit for winter-and detachable so they could be washed separately!

Any fabric can be used: 100% cotton, 100%silk, raw silk, hemp, polyester/rayon blends, chiffons, faux leathers (ones with designs, such as feather-hole designs in faux ostrich), faux suede, the design is versatile.

The (shirred sleeves have pulls of ribbon or other material. The bodice/blousetop, have shirring, as does the skirt, which is detachable.

The skirt of the dress can be long or knee length, which I have shown. It is attached at the waist by preferably, buttons, which add style to the design, but velcro, large hooks, fabric or faux suede/leather ties, are ok too.

My design is not meant to be clinging, but, changing the material to one with a percentage of spandex, you could modify the look of the top OR skirt OR both, giving versatility in look and feel to the model, as some women prefer a clinging top to magnify smaller breasts, while others prefer cling to the skirt, showing off their curves.

I think, with our economy, we should look more towards utilizing our dollar to the fullest, including purchasing our clothing, soas not to do more damage to our planet, Earth, as well as our pocketbooks.

The best idea in my design is to make it a different color/pattern, inside and out-as well as to have detachable parts. I don't believe they should be sold as separates the first few seasons to be able to see better gross sales. I would purchase clothing with my idea and I know others would too.

"A small wardrobe in one dress....every girl (woman) needs at least one!" That is my idea for an advertisement of my product.

This is a simple drawing. I am trying to adjust to living on my own for the first time in my life and am on a very limited income. This opportunity would support my desire to repay my daughters for help they have given me along the way, through serious health problems to regaining health. I just found out about this competition and have no computer and am busing to the local university to try to get this information in with very poor equipment and hopefully it will be sufficient for you to see my idea. The style is a classic look and very versatile. Any type of material can be used, making it fancy or daily wear.

That is my idea for an ad. I appreciate the opportunity to get this into a blog in time! Thanks for the email invitation, Shabby Apple!
